Saint Mary’s High School in Manhasset is seeking a full-time mathematics teacher to join its Mathematics Department. The successful candidates will be a practicing Catholic with a desire to model and foster intellectual and moral virtue in young people. Each St. Mary’s teacher is dedicated to developing the whole person in academics, the arts, athletics and a growing commitment to God and others.
The Mathematics Teacher position is a full-time position with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
Teach five sections of mathematics
Ability to teach Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II and Pre-Calculus/ Calculus
Experience teaching/ability to teach AP Calculus is a plus
Work collaboratively and be open to feedback on improving teaching skills
Participate in departmental and school-wide professional development initiatives
Participate in the extracurricular life of the school
Attend and contribute to grade level, faculty, and department meetings
Teach and lead students in accordance with the teachings of the Roman Catholic church and the mission of St. Mary’s High School
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in mathematics, education, or related field
NYS teacher certification or currently working towards certification
Personal commitment to advancing the Catholic mission in education
Saint Mary’s High School in Manhasset is seeking a full-time Science teacher to join its Science Department. The successful candidate will be a practicing Catholic with a desire to model and foster intellectual and moral virtue in young people. Each St. Mary’s teacher is dedicated to developing the whole person in academics, the arts, athletics, and a growing commitment to God and others. Saint Mary’s forms students to be good professionals, citizens, friends, and to pursue holiness in their personal vocations.
The Science Teacher position is a full-time position with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
Teach five sections of science based on area of expertise
Ability to teach Chemistry and Biology
Experience teaching advanced or AP-level science courses is a plus
Work collaboratively and be open to feedback on improving teaching skills
Participate in departmental and school-wide professional development initiatives
Participate in the extracurricular life of the school
Attend and contribute to grade level, faculty, and department meetings
Teach and lead students in accordance with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and the mission of Saint Mary’s High School
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field (advanced science degree a plus)
NYS teacher certification or currently working toward certification preferred
Personal commitment to advancing the Catholic mission in education
Saint Mary’s High School in Manhasset is seeking a full-time Spanish teacher to join its Modern Languages Department. The successful candidate will be a practicing Catholic with a desire to model and foster intellectual and moral virtue in young people. Each St. Mary’s teacher is dedicated to developing the whole person in academics, the arts, athletics, and a growing commitment to God and others.
The Spanish Teacher position is a full-time position with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
Teach five sections of Spanish
Ability to teach all levels of high school Spanish, from introductory through advanced courses
Experience teaching AP Spanish Language and Culture is a plus
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and proficiency goals
Incorporate speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities to build communicative competence
Foster appreciation for Hispanic cultures through authentic materials, projects, and cultural activities
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs
Work collaboratively and be open to feedback on improving teaching skills
Participate in departmental and school-wide professional development initiatives
Participate in the extracurricular life of the school
Attend and contribute to grade level, faculty, and department meetings
Teach and lead students in accordance with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and the mission of Saint Mary’s High School
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
NYS teacher certification or currently working toward certification
Native or near-native Spanish proficiency
Experience teaching multiple high school Spanish levels preferred
Personal commitment to advancing the Catholic mission in education
