Passing of Brother Kenneth Robert, FMS

Brother Kenneth was the cornerstone of the storied athletic program at St. Mary’s High School, serving as a coach, mentor, and athletic director since joining the staff in 1958. His tenure spanned 60 years at St. Mary’s.
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Brother Kenneth Robert, FMS. He was 89 years old. In addition to serving as an educator, Brother Kenneth was the cornerstone of the storied athletic program at St. Mary’s High School, serving as a coach, mentor, and athletic director since joining the staff in 1958. His tenure spanned 60 years at St. Mary’s. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005. In 2012, a scholarship was created in his honor, and the gymnasium in Marist Hall proudly bears his name. He recently celebrated his 72nd year as a Marist Brother.

A private Mass of Christian Burial took place in the chapel at Mt. St. Michael Academy in the Bronx and was livestreamed via Zoom on Monday, September 19, 2022. The Mass Program and Memorial Booklet created by the Marist Brothers are available for download.
 
We appreciate the outpouring of support and prayers as we mourn the loss of St. Mary's legend, Brother Kenneth. A Memorial Mass at the Church of Saint Mary will be announced in the future.
